Product Management Job Scene in Seattle Area

 Seattle and its neighboring areas are a hub for product development and innovation. There are numerous start-ups and big fortune 500 companies in Pacific Northwest making innovative world-class products which require an ever growing need for Product Managers.

  A quick analysis on Google Trends for “Product Management” filtered by geography shows Washington’s ranking as third in Search Index right behind California and Massachusetts which are ranked first and second respectively.

This may seem surprising at first but digging a bit deeper reveals an interesting insight.

Without doubt the Bay Area is still a major hub of product innovation and product based jobs. But Washington is also not far behind with more than 1200 Product Management jobs on Filtering shows that almost 95% of the jobs are based in Greater Seattle Area with having the more than 600 positions, followed by Microsoft,  Expedia and Starbucks. No doubt the tech-giants are hiring a significant percentage of Product Managers, but we also see many openings from startups like Redfin, Zulily and Tableau etc. for Product Management roles. Checkout Startuphire for positions specifically from the startup community. In addition the resources section of Product Arts website shows an aggregated listing of Product Management jobs in Seattle area.

But how lucrative is a Product Manager's role in Seattle? A quick snapshot on glassdoor shows the average salary trends for Product Manager roles in Seattle to be much higher than the National median of $98,000.

Clearly Seattle is a great place for professionals to build and grow a career in Product Management. Keep an eye out – as your next big leap in Product Management may be just around the corner!

The bat area is so often focused on when talking about start ups.  It's great so see that hiring for PMs is great in the Seattle area in both small and large companies.

What is the PMC?
