PMC Names Dave Manningsmith New Facilitator
Successful technology product strategist and leader to oversee organization’s future growth
Seattle, WA – September 3, 2010 - Today the Product Management Consortium (PMC), a Northwest-based professional organization for product managers and other product stakeholders, announced that it has named Dave Manningsmith as its new Facilitator. Manningsmith officially replaces Mara Krieps in the role as of September 16.
In the past ten years, PMC has hosted more than 100 events, including educational panels, networking sessions, career fairs, tools showcases and “unconferences”. A founding PMC Advisory Board member since 2000, Krieps has served as the PMC’s Facilitator for the past seven years. During that time, the organization has grown to more than ten times its original size.
Krieps said, “This year I’ve been looking for the next PMC Facilitator. Dave has demonstrated an exceptional ability to build community, as well as a deep commitment to PMC’s long-term mission as a Northwest-focused resource for product stakeholders. I’m looking forward to the organization’s continued growth and success under Dave’s leadership.”
A few words on PMC's history from Mara Krieps
With over 20 years' experience across several industries, Manningsmith developed product management and marketing strategy expertise as the Business Intelligence Lead for Microsoft's Windows Client Division and as a Customer Experience Manager for AT&T's Small Business Mobility Operations Division. Today, he actively supports the local business community through consulting, mentoring, and leadership in the greater Seattle area.
Manningsmith said, “I am honored and delighted to take on the role of Facilitator for the PMC. While I have big plans to grow the PMC, I respect our rich past, and I will look to the existing community to make sure we only increase in relevance and value.”
