Jon White posted a blog postIf your role includes product strategy, or inbound product management (aka ‘What to build?’) then I maintain that 1:1 customer interviews are the most important tool in your box. They are also one of the most underused. I will be exploring this topic more over the next few months but for now here are some quick tips I have found useful along the way.…

We are a volunteer-run non-profit organization, and we have been serving product lifecycle professionals of Seattle since February of 2000! We have always tried to add value for 'product people' and always tried to provide high quality events and online resources for product lifecycle professionals to connect, share, participate, and learn. We have been producing high quality content for 13 years without needing to pay ourselves, and we plan to continue the trend in…

Thomas Stelter said… Hi Jon - thanks for the message. Won't be in Seattle, but will be looking to attend an upcoming event. Joined PMC to expand my BOK with all the interesting PM strategy topics and discussion, and contribute when applicable. My background is in SaaS ecommerce PM, and I'm Chicago-based and looking to start a PM group locally. If there are Chicago area groups that you would suggest, I'd love to know about them.
Thanks for the welcome! Looking forward to contributing to the group!

Dan Read said… Hi Jon!
The reasons are on several levels. Primarily, the company I just joined for is primed for growth, but it has no PM strategy. The work has been done by whoever can pick it up. Having come from two large companies, in my past, I am working on developing an NPI strategy that is not only process, but also portfolio management based. Interfacing with others for best practices, methods, trends, and tools will be critical fr our growth and long-term success. I am THRILLED to find out about PMC as I believe it will help us with this critical path in our evolution.
Thanks for the welcome! I look forward to meeting with the group.
Hannah Roderick said… Hi Jon, thanks for the message. I certainly will be there next week. I look forward to meeting you there!
Dawn Parzych said… Hi Jon. A coworker suggested I join the group. I am looking for opportunities to network with other product managers and attend local events is very appealing to me.
Ari Ganguly said… No I have not, but would love to.
Ari Ganguly said… Hi Jon,
Product development is a complex beast and the more I read/listen, the more I imbibe.
Though I am in NYC and wont be able to attend the Seattle meet-ups, the constant flow of information from a targeted source is very informative.
