Quantum seeks to hire a senior product manager to lead product requirements and product strategy for  our StorNext software and StorNext file system appliances. Given the strategic nature, executive interaction and reach of this position, this individual needs to be of senior capability.

Specific responsibilities:

-  Provide customer-focused thinking around product strategy and product requirements for Quantum's StorNext appliances and next generation products.

-  Collaborate with engineering teams, product executives, and technology leaders to find the sweet spot between customer problems that need solving and solutions we can provide.

-  Create effective market requirements documents for future products, based on a deep understanding of our technical capabilities as well as customer needs and market trends--complete with use cases.

-  Manage the creation of new products, from beginning to end of the product lifecycle, as a key leader in cross-functional product teams.

Manage price, forecasts, and positioning for products.

-  Communicate and collaborate effectively with leaders in engineering, manufacturing, quality, service, docs, business operations, supply planning, financial planning, legal, accounting, marketing, etc.

-  Talk to customers, study market trends, gather analyst/research data, analyze competition--and then share the key conclusions with product management, product marketing, and engineering colleagues.

-  Funnel key product information to outbound marketing and field sales teams, as part of new product introduction efforts and in support of ongoing sales and channel efforts.

-  Monitor and measure the success of your products, to influence future products and to provide insights and guidance to marketing, sales, and manufacturing.

-  Highly preferred: B.S. or B.A. in Computer Science, or equivalent engineering or science degree.

-  Highly preferred; 5+ years product management experience in a storage enterprise.

-  Highly preferred: 12+ years industry experience in engineering or product management in hi-tech.
