We just finished designing a one-year certificate program in Product Design and Development at University of Washington. The program focuses on the design and development of tangible products and is interdisciplinary in nature with courses covering business, design and engineering principles. The program was developed in partnership with the Foster School of Business, the College of Engineering, the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the School of Art.

Permalink Reply by Britta Simon on July 3, 2012 at 9:52am Product Design and Development differs from Software Product Management in that it focuses on the design and development of tangible products rather than software. It also emphasizes the actual design process and how engineering principles impact the design process.
