Networking Lunches, February Event with Pete Frickland and jobs at BigDoor and OpenMarket
Product Management Consortium
We are back to our standard schedule of events in February. We will host our networking lunches tomorrow and Pete Frickland will talk about "Balancing Product Portfolios" at the monthly event on February 21.  Also our friends at BigDoor and OpenMarket have new new product positions open.

Join us tomorrow for our monthly PMC Lunches

Join us on the first Thursday of every month for our popular networking lunches in Seattle or Bellevue. Get out of the office and socialize with other local PdMs.  No formal presentations or registration fees. Just a casual group meeting for a Thursday lunch. We can vent about bugs and roadmap planning, strategize about the economy, or just chat!

See you on the third Thursday, February 21 at "Balancing Product Portfolios"

Most product managers have many more new product ideas than can be developed and commercialized with available resources. Choosing the “right” products to pursue in an environment of competing, often contradicting, corporate requirements can be paralyzing. This presentation will provide a straightforward, adaptable framework for prioritizing projects in a way that results in a strong, balanced portfolio of projects that is completely aligned with corporate strategies and decision-making criteria.

For 20 years, Pete Frickland headed product development at Cascade Designs in Seattle. During that time, he oversaw the integrated growth and development of  several well-known outdoor brands, including Therm-a-Rest, MSR, SealLine, Platypus, PackTowl and Tracks. Along the way, he was instrumental in the development  and commercialization of hundreds of new products. For the past 7 years, Pete has been an independent consultant specializing in the application of pragmatic product  development management processes, methods and tools that have proven themselves to be effective at getting more of the right products to market, faster, and with  fewer resources.
